Detailed transport cost appraisal tools

HDM-4

TRL’s software group is now proud to distribute HDM-4 v2.  TRL has been a part of the HDM Global Consortium funded by the World Road Association for the development and advice into the product and are looking forward to our increased involvement through the onward sales to transport professionals.

At TRL we believe in taking our 75 years of research through into products in order to bring world class software to the professional transport practitioners.  Adding HDM-4 to the portfolio of software available from us delivers on this belief once again.

COBA and QUADRO

TRL maintains and develops COBA and QUADRO on behalf of the UK Department for Transport. COBA and QUADRO are detailed cost appraisal tools that assess the relative costs/benefits of road improvement schemes and roadworks, respectively.

Both programs rely on a large quantity of transport economic and demographic data. The programs come with data for UK scenarios built-in, but most data can be customised as needed. The data types interact with sophisticated models and cover areas such as traffic growth forecasts, values of time, forecast modal split, accident rate forecasts and costs, tax revenues and fuel price and fuel consumption forecasts. COBA presents its final results in the form of tables showing the economic efficiency of the scheme in market prices.

COBA and QUADRO are both DOS based programs, but include a Windows based viewer program for displaying and comparing results.
